BAND BIO

WHITE NOISE was formed in the summer of 2008 by two long time friends, Dan (Guitar/Vocals) and Jim (Drums). We had a core of cover songs we knew like the back of our hands and felt there was still an audience that wanted to hear the songs we grew up with and we still loved to play, but we also realized we would need much more if we were going to compete on the local scene with other established bands. So we went to work choosing songs that we thought bar patrons and party goers would find energetic and entertaining, but consciously trying to stay away from the same obvious tunes every other cover band gravitates toward. We made a decision early on to not be totally self indulgent in song selection, so a small percentage of songs in our set list are songs of the self serving nature – basically to knock our own socks off and hopefully the crowd’s too.

To complete the trio, we brought in Rick (Bass), on August 1, 2008. Our first task was to rehearse until we had 4 sets of music. We landed our first gig at Shenanigans (West) on Nov. 15^th, 2008 and haven’t looked back. During the first year, we focused on playing as many local clubs and parties as we could to get our name known. The people have always been very receptive to us and we landed a lot of gigs in Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Davie and Fort Lauderdale. During our almost two years of existence, various issues caused changes at the Bass player position. Rob, our current bassist, brings a talented, professional and energetic feel to the band. We’re now looking to expand our reach throughout the tri-county area. Our short term goals are to promote our band heavily, build a loyal following and project a highly energetic musical interpretation of our selection of cover songs to the audience. This we feel will keep patrons in the bar and provide for a successful night not only for us, but also for the venue. For the long term, we strive to become one of the premiere cover bands in Florida – and beyond.
